What Does SUCCESS Really Mean to Me?

After more than 35 years in Arts Education—as a theatre director, K–12 public school educator, and performer—I’ve discovered that true success isn’t measured in applause, awards, or titles. It’s about hearing someone’s heart.

There’s no greater honor than walking beside a person or organization and reminding them: You matter.

Recently, I stepped away from the classroom to continue helping others believe what God says about us— that we are invaluable and uniquely designed to make a difference in this world. God has a plan, and each of us has a vital role in it.

To walk in that plan—that’s SUCCESS.

The Tools of SUCCESS

Time and money—two things we never seem to have enough of! Whether directing a show or leading a classroom, mastering time management has been a lifelong pursuit, and one I love helping others develop.

I’m blessed to share this journey with my husband, Paul—my partner in life and ministry since 1987. His gift of financial wisdom balances my creative drive perfectly. Together, we’re a true dream team!

As working artists, we’ve faced our share of challenges (and miracles) learning to steward our time and finances wisely. Those lessons now fuel our mission to help others do the same—with grace, creativity, and joy.

Our Family

We’ve raised two wonderfully creative children. Our daughter Ellen lives in the Netherlands with her Dutch husband and their adorable little one—our first grandchild! Our son Ben and his wife live in Orange County, CA, where they teach, make music, and share life with their magical cat.

Together, our family collaborated to create a children’s book that celebrates wonder and connection:
Because of YOU! A Journey of Wonder.

It’s truly a labor of love—written by me, illustrated by Ellen, set to music by Ben, edited by Paul, and signed in ASL by my Deaf sister, Gail. The story is in English, Spanish, Dutch, and ASL— a reminder that love and creativity speak every language.
